ABOUT DR. COPELAND
Michael Copeland, a Cleveland native, is an educator and community leader whose work with children and families laid the foundation for his writing. His career in teaching, wraparound support, and youth development leadership has given him a front-row seat to the challenges and triumphs of young people—experiences that inspired him to share his story.
Currently serving as Chief of Staff at MyCom Cleveland, Michael continues to champion youth-focused initiatives while drawing on his life’s work as the basis for his writing. In 2024, he published his first book, The Journey of One Determined Educator, which has already received multiple prestigious awards. His path from classroom and community service to published author reflects his lifelong commitment to education, resilience, and hope.
